Engagements = likes + comments + shares + saves. By views = all engagements ÷ all views. By followers = engagements per post ÷ followers.

Use views, not followers, on TikTok

Most TikTok views come from the For You feed, from people who don’t follow the creator. That makes followers a weak guide: a creator with 8,000 followers can get 50,000 views on a video, and one with 200,000 can get 3,000. The calculator shows both rates, but on TikTok engagement by views and average views tell you more.

Where to find the numbers

  • Views: on the video thumbnail in the creator’s profile grid.
  • Likes, comments, saves and shares: down the right side of each video.
  • Followers: on the profile.

Skip pinned videos at the top of the profile: they’re usually the creator’s best. Use the 5 to 10 most recent videos instead.

Shares and saves count most

A like takes a tap. A share sends the video to someone else, and a save means the viewer wants to come back to it, which for a product often means they’re thinking of buying. When two creators have a similar rate, prefer the one whose engagement leans on shares and saves.

Once the product ships, Pozto watches the creators you gifted on TikTok and finds the videos that show it, tagged or not. Start free with up to 10 creators.

Questions

How do you calculate TikTok engagement rate?

By views: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views. By followers: the average engagements per video ÷ followers.

Can I paste a TikTok link?

Not yet. TikTok doesn’t share video stats with other sites through its official tools, so enter them from the video.

How many videos should I use?

5 to 10 recent ones, without pinned videos or ads. Fewer makes one viral video skew the result.
